The station predominantly plays international oldies, complemented by 15 percent German Schlager music. Between 2010 and 2012, MDR Thüringen transitioned from a Schlager to an oldies radio station. The backbone of the program structure consists of hourly news at the top of the hour, as well as headlines and regional news at the half-hour mark. The station's content focus and journalistic profile are shaped by a strong emphasis on regional topics. The radio program carries the subtitle "The Home Station."
