Welle Niederrhein broadcasts its local program on weekdays from 6 to 10 AM (“WELLE NIEDERRHEIN am Morgen”) and from 4 to 6 PM (“WELLE NIEDERRHEIN am Nachmittag”). On weekends, local programming is broadcast from 9 AM to 1 PM (“WELLE NIEDERRHEIN am Wochenende”). During the remaining time, the main program from radio NRW is aired. News is broadcast hourly on weekdays from 6:30 AM to 6:30 PM and on Saturdays from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM. World news at the top of the hour, music tracks, and the advertisement block immediately before them are provided around the clock by radio NRW. Like all private radio stations in North Rhine-Westphalia, Welle Niederrhein is also required by the state media law to broadcast citizen radio programs on its frequencies. These are pre-recorded shows created and produced by individuals or groups from the region. These programs are broadcast in the evening from 8 PM for one hour.
