This morning's show was so special and gave me so much energy and a sense of community, passion for the arts and expression and so much more. The Black History Month segment with the poet, Leila Rose and her teacher moved us to tears, smile and laughter. This sounds more like a poet laureate than a high school student! And her surprise for her teacher was such a great idea and a brilliant exchange. Thanks again, CBC Radio One!! Looking forward to the next morning shows!

Just heard the interview this morning highlighting the Nia Centre focusing on the writing workshop facilitator Keyosha and her brilliant student, Leila Rose. What an exceptional young woman. Thank you for sharing your experiences with the expressive arts.

I listen to international radio and C.B.C. The best of these programs often have intelligent and personable hosts who come across as individuals. Michael Enright and Ben Hefner are examples of radio hosts who remain appealing over time. Program could be more interesting (a little more offbeat, perhaps) and aspiring. This would be better than kitchen-table blather which becomes tiring after a while. Could C.B.C. hire some individuals who actually are inherently interesting, even a little controversial now and then, and give them room to spout off now and then... A little more world music might be good - selecting music from a population of billions cannot be a bad choice - there is no need to exclude almost all classical music, either; the repetition of music programs, sometimes three times on one weekend strikes me as inane. Reading from an intelligent book might be better rather than a third repetition involving pop music... Inspiration is key, not comfort, perhaps.

Unnecessary hype and coverage was done by cbc to inauguration of new US president . Hosts are eager to give emotional touch to friendship of US and Canada while the reality is that US has never reciprocated to our friendship. Starting from Obama, who shut down Ford industrial set up and took auto industry back to US. Trump also put taxes on our Aluminum industry. Now look at new president, the first thing he did was to cancel the billion dollar pipeline project, without any courtesy of initiating any discussion with first door neighbor; as if he has nothing more important to do. I think we Canadians (especially our leaders) must wake up and stand up to our needs instead of even begging the vaccines from US companies. Canada should explore new market and new friends

I am grateful there are no interrupting audio ads. Apologies for having nothing crazy or politically idiotic to say.

Good day,

This election was rigged. Trump won the election properly, and he would still be president if all the illegal votes were not counted. Biden isn't even a legal American citizen, and if he was, he wouldn't be scared to release his birth certificate. By voting for Biden, you are betraying your own country. I am a graveyard owner, and my business revenue has tripled while under the Trump administration.

CBC is my choice for the entire day. But I cannot be the only one to complain about background music playing OVER the commentary during a news item. For instance, this am on the Amanda Duncan segment, the report on ways to shop wisely during COVID-19 music played in the background. WHY? It made it difficult, even impossible to hear all the commentary. CBC television never does that. Voice over video fine...I get that but what is the argument in favour of banjo tunes playing behind/over the speaker's words during an interview? Thank you and continue your excellent coverage of Canadians coping with our crisis.

The best local and national radio station. Wherever I am in Canada I find a local CBC station (there are fewer sadly) and feel connected. There is no other station who promotes Canada, our ideas and voices. Also loving that Metro Morning is moving away from being totally Toronto centric. Food reviews by Saresh for Hamilton and Stoney Creek - love it!!!

Canada's public broadcaster. Good news programming in English if you are in Germany and homesick.
-
Have been listening to CBC national news since the Barbara Frum days. My husband even bought me a special radio to pick up As It Happens when we lived out of country.

I have been listening to CBC Radio 1 since I moved from Australia 7 years ago. It's the station both radio's & my laptop are tuned into.
