Radio 21 is a regional and private radio station based in Garbsen, Lower Saxony. At the end of 2011, the station left its old location in the Havelse district and moved to the Berenbostel district. The rock-oriented music program is characterized by a wide mix of music. It mainly plays rock music from the 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s, but also guitar-heavy pop music. Since October 2013, the station has been operating under the slogan 'Bester Rock 'N POP.' The program is currently broadcast in Lower Saxony and Bremen on 23 frequencies and is designed as a local program network. This means the program is split up to fifteen times an hour. Regional content such as advertising, news, and features is broadcast differently depending on the region. To finance local program content, local advertising blocks are broadcast. A distinction is made between recurring designations such as local frequency details, place names, or other recurring notes and constantly updated editorial content such as local news, weather and traffic information, or event announcements. Regional news is broadcast every half hour or hour depending on the time of day and is read by presenters Matze Kay and Christian Schmidt. The news is pre-produced externally and updated hourly. The station forms a network with Rockland Radio from Mainz. Moderation and music are synchronized. Advertising, local and regional features, as well as the station name in jingles, differ.
