Informatie over de radio

Wanneer precies het genre Emo is ontstaan, is vandaag de dag moeilijk te zeggen, omdat de beschrijving zich meer richt op de emotioneel geladen teksten dan op de muzikale richting. Dit wordt natuurlijk ook weerspiegeld in de naam: Emo is namelijk geen aanduiding voor muzikale technieken, maar simpelweg een afkorting van "emotioneel". Wat we vandaag onder deze term verstaan, heeft echter zijn wortels in de hardcore- en punkscene van de jaren '80 - harde muziek ontmoet harde emoties. Angst voor falen, verdriet, wanhoop en andere zeer persoonlijke gevoelens vinden hun weg naar de teksten van het genre Emo en zorgen zo voor een unieke muziekstijl en een bijzondere band tussen bands en hun fans.
