Ici Musique

Ici Musique 101.9 FM (CBAX-FM-2) St. John’s, NL is a relay transmitter of CBAX-FM Halifax, Nova Scotia which signals at 91.5 MHz. Predominantly Jazz and Classical music format station CBAX receives its content from Moncton based CBAL and CBCX Calgary. CBAX launched with an ERP of 77,500 in 2002. Prior to the launch of the station, CRTC had approved the repeaters for St. John’s and Charlottetown on May 7, 2001, for the same application that won CBC the bid to set up their French station CBAX-FM (Espace Musique). A third transmitter in Yarmouth was added to the CBAX family in 2005. The licenses of the CBAX-FM-2 St. John’s along with other rebroadcast siblings have been renewed by CRTC in 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011 and lastly on September 1, 2013, validating the renewal until August 31, 2016.
