Ici Musique

Ici Musique 101.9 FM (CBAX-FM-2) St. John’s, NL is a relay transmitter of CBAX-FM Halifax, Nova Scotia which signals at 91.5 MHz. Predominantly Jazz and Classical music format station CBAX receives its content from Moncton based CBAL and CBCX Calgary. CBAX launched with and ERP of 77,500 in 2002. Prior to the launch of the station CRTC had approved the repeaters for St. John’s and Charlottetown on May 7, 2001 for the same application that won CBC the bid to setup their French station CBAX-FM (Espace Musique). A third transmitter in Yarmouth was added to CBAX family in 2005. The licenses of the CBAX-FM-2 St. John’s along with other rebroadcast siblings have been renewed by CRTC in 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011 and lastly on September 1, 2013 validating the renewal until August 31, 2016. Listeners can have music Monde, Classique, Country, Folk, Alternatif and more with vidéos, blogues and contenus online through the official webcast.
