Such a shame that John Cargher's programme Singers of Renown can't be broadcast. Really used to enjoy the hour spent in his company.
Classic FM is my default radio both at home and when driving. The music is usually great but you cannot please us all all of the time. I would prefer presenters who use clear English and keep a constant volume. resenters who speak to the listener rather that to their colleague in the studio. Sorry Russell, I miss most of what you say, despite my having normal to good hearing. I just cannot tune in to that accent.
3arr 3lo Classic FM A fan since when Pete and Clive spoke and the two clowns arn,t really clowns.Just chatters Always music to lift the soul. Female presenters of the past have given memorable broadcasts. Nice to see more like them who could and can hold their voice an enunciate each word. Could todays females go back to elocution lessons please.
All the presenters on ABCFm have been SENSATIONAL throughout this nightmare time !!!!! Always positive and reflecting joy and energy when I’m sure they didn’t always feel that way — what a positive group of people Who haven’t alluded to all those overused terms associated with the C-19 !! and the MUSIC !!!! Stupendous Magnificent Beethoven — what an opportunity to celebrate him and his genius — I’m voting for The Tempest —( can’t get the vote thru on the website — but the Emperor is probably my unmovable love ....
PLEASE COULD WE HAVE MORE OF MARGARET THROSBY AND LESS OF RUSSELL TORRENS AND THE OTHER 2 CLOWNS ALWAYS CHATTING NONSENSE, I just switch them off, what a beautiful surprise to hear Margaret. rating only with Margaret.
Well at least the broadcast quality is adequate and there is classical to listen too, but the idea that you don't publish IN ADVANCE what is going to be played is really inconvenient. It can only reduce the number of people listening. I suppose some bright spark thought it would increase the audience since they HAD to just listen and hope for the best. Wrong!
I used to be an ardent listener of Classic FM in the days when it was almost entirely music and you got ADVANCE notice of the programme. Now there is less music and far too much talk, worse when two presenters are on at the same time, chatting with each other, trying to be funny: two salaries and less music! Now on line there is the utterly bizarre scheme of telling what HAS BEEN played, not what IS TO BE played. Now I switch on at random to hear what is being played, which is hit and miss and not at all satisfactory. Please less talk, more music, and for God;s sake tell us in advance what is to be played as of yore!!
I listen your radio in hospital now, it's evening, you play nice music. I will be your fan...
I have been an ardent follow of ABC Classic FM since its inception and since the advent of streaming I carry your station around the world with me; this note comes from South Africa.
I also bring to your attention a wonderful station in South Africa, it is similar to 2MBSFM, and is called Fine Music Radio, broadcast and streamed from Cape Town, you would find it of interest I think.
In anticipation and with kind regards from a happy listener,
Peter Vanderspuy, South Africa.
