egoFM is a private music station licensed for nationwide broadcasting in Bavaria. The core target audience is young people aged between 19 and 35. The core concept is to bring radio closer to young people again. This is achieved through a close connection with the internet, active program participation by young people, and a broad music offering. This includes Electronic Pop and various Black music styles such as R&B, Hip-Hop, Rap, Reggae, Soul, Alternative Rock, Britpop, Independent Pop & Rock, Dance, or Club-Music. According to its own statements, the goal is to differentiate itself from format radio and shallow 'Dudelradio.' In these, the focus is on the seamless transition of songs; alternative songs and concepts are rarely featured on such stations. This usually results in 'Dudelradio' playing the same songs repeatedly (Heavy Rotation) and having a very narrow music selection.
