Unser Sender hat berühmte Paten: Die Musiker-Kollegen Marius Müller-Westernhagen, Scorpions, Peter Maffay und Klaus Lage gründeten Ende der 90er Jahre die Gesellschaft Deutsches RockRadio. Erklärtes Ziel war die Förderung von Rockmusik in der pop-orientierten Radiolandschaft. So startete am 01. August 1998 das erste landesweite Programm der Musiker Rockland Radio in Rheinland-Pfalz. Rockland Radio - Bester Rock 'N Pop! Hat das inzwischen allein in die Hand genommen und verfügt heute über sieben UKW Frequenzen in Rheinland Pfalz.
