living in Shelby Ohio while listening To my home town station. my dad had vocm on every morning growing up. I rember listening to open line, day and ross road report, and wally millman in the vocm chevy blazer. We [wife and I] moved to the USA 1997 after I graduated from st.clares nuring school. I am still a newfi, and always will be.

I remeber listening to this Irish Newfoundland show every Sarurday when I was a little kid back in Newfoundland. Now I listen from Tennessee and still love this show on Saturdays..

VOCM is an AM radio station in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada, broadcasting at 590 kHz. Owned by Newcap Radio, VOCM first went on the air in 1936. October 19, 2016 marked 80 years of broadcasting for VOCM. Through the "VOCM/Big Land FM Radio Network" of stations owned by Newcap, VOCM programming is carried throughout the province.
VOCM is perhaps best known for its talk shows, including Open Line with Paddy Daly, Backtalk with Peter Soucy and Night Line with Jonathan Richler, where Newfoundland and Labrador-related issues are discussed with callers and emails/tweets sent to the station are read and discussed. Outside of its talk programming, VOCM previously used a current country music format.
