Newy Plays hit music from the 50’s, 60’s, 70’s and 80s. We play all the music other radio stations don’t play from Perry Como to The Doors and everything in between. Newy is currently broadcasting in Newcastle NSW on FM 87.8.
The Newy FM organisation is using its website and Facebook page to publish an article about an altercation between one of their workers and a local woman. They have not included the man’s details as he ‘wishes to remain anonymous’ yet they have published her face on their website and Facebook page and allowed people to comment negative things about her. The Newy FM team is deleting comments that are not negatively commenting on the woman. They deleted mine, which questioned the circumstances around the incident and the fairness of their public shaming of her. They deleted my comment, then sent me a direct message saying that ‘If it was a man being accused of intimidating a woman, no one is writing lengthy comments to defend the man like you have.’ This indicates that they only published their article because it was about a woman who questioned their worker about why he was filming people walking by the beach. According to their article, the man was sitting in his car with a tripod set up, filming runners at sunrise, and the woman questioned what he was doing and asked him to not film her.

Love this music station & the songs it plays. Interestingly this station (Newcastle) doesn`t cut out like its sister location in Penrith .Sydney & i`m in Tasmania. But....for whatever reason it tends to cut songs short. Why? Otherwise keep the music coming.

Great music, the best, I couldn't care less about what time you broadcast - buy a watch if it bothers you. Only concern is low signal strength around Newcastle and the fact that sometimes that bible station comes in over the top and spoils the music.
