They started broadcasting in 1985 as a pirate radio and quickly attracted a lot of listeners. September 01, 1990 is the official birthday of this radio station. At that day they obtained a license and started broadcasting officially.

Kiss FM UK is also well known for its live event called Kisstory which is organized several times per year. Kisstory takes place not only locally but also travels to other countries and continents.
