The shutting down of radio stations in Ghana today, but some foreigners are allowed to use our airwaves absolutely free of charge is very similar to the way and manner chiefs in the colonial era took cheap alcoholic drinks and pieces of glass beads as the reward for catching and selling their people to the Trans-Atlantic Slave Traders.

We have been told that there is a new curriculum for history that is to be taught in our primary schools. I wish to state without any equivocation that attempts to skew Ghana history to the interest of a certain group of people will certainly not stand the test of time. History is sacrosanct and the content and form must remain untouched. It is usually the context of history that people with obscure agendas skew to their interest. But, the facts of history do not change and it is obnoxious to find people who call themselves intellectuals doing it. Let us further this discussion by establishing what pre-independence, post-independence, and the rest are? Pre-independence is the total events and processes leading to the achievement of independence. The post-independence is all the events that happened after independence. Therefore, the clear distinction between the two is that, whereas the former is pointing to the events leading to independence, the latter encapsulates events dated from Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah's reign to this current dispensation. In both pre and post-independence, it is this man (Osagyefo) who stands tall. We are being told that Dr. J.B Danquah has been given prominence in this pre-independence era which automatically establishes him as the most important person during this era. Does this make sense, Ghanaians? The person's whose vision, actions, and inactions culminated in freeing the people of Ghana from white domination is relegated to the background while projecting J.B Danquah as the most important person in the pre-independence struggle. It did not end there. The primary schools are mandated to pay homage to J.B Danquah by visiting J.B Danquah circle to learn from him. what are they going to learn from this man? Oh Ghana, Oh Ghana, what is wrong with us. Why should we allow this to happen to us? It is only this country that we celebrate non-achievers at the expense of the achievers. All over the world, except Ghana, it is only achievers who are celebrated. Let me give you one example. Far away in the United States when the blacks were fighting for black freedom, many individuals started in their own way towards this noble course. But, it took Martin Luther King's vision and actions that eventually got them there. He is celebrated and a holiday is established in his honor. His glory and honor has never been tainted or diluted with the celebration of other people. I am totally shattered about what we are doing to ourselves as a people. We have allowed falsehood and fabrication to cloud our thinking which is very sad. This is just the beginning of the series of debate I am prepared to engage in.
