Born on December 24, 1949 in Boston, Massachusetts. While studying civil engineering at the Northeastern University, John became an on the air DJ for WNEU in 1968 and he was spinning records at a local club called the Towne House in Boston. In 1975 he was DJ in the Rhinoceros club, he had a radio program “The Right Track” on WTBS and he ran the Boston nightlife and culture magazine Nightfall. He became A&R co-ordinator for Elf Records in 1976 and in the same year was president and co-founder of the Boston Record Pool, promoting disco records to club DJ’s. In 1977 he moved to spin records at Whimsey’s and radio station WBOS. John became National Disco Coordinator of MK Dance Promotions in 1978 and founded in 1979 the record label Pavillion Records, which was distributed by CBS. He remixed many disco records, starting in 1974 with I Just Wanna Say I Love You by Leon Collins, followed by Dancing Free from Hot Ice in 1976. Many more followed in the years to come for numerous famous artists from the US and the UK.
