Anime Blast Radio - The BLAST reviews

Information about the radio

Anime Blast Radio is an internet only station.Anime Blast Radio comes from a small, humble beginning.
The station started as a small station in the old LIVE365 platform in September, 2013. After experiencing the limitations of the LIVE365 platform at that time, it moved to being a Shoutcast-based station two months later. At this time the station went by the name "Anime Classics Radio."
It moved from Shoutcast to Radionomy in March, 2014.
While on the Radionomy platform there were many changes and additions. Various other stations were added under the "Anime Classics Radio" moniker. All of these other stations were closed down for various reasons.

While on the Radionomy platform, Sony Music and a few of affiliate companies took Radionomy to court over music licensing issues. This lawsuit (settled out of court in early 2017) caused many changes and restrictions on the Radionomy platform. The largest issue was one of "geo-blocking." Radionomy instituted a method of blocking certain countries from listening to the stations under their platform. This situation, along with others made the decision to go back to being a Shoutcast-based station in the summer of 2016.

The station was relaunched under the name "Anime Radio Fukkatsu." This name only lasted a couple months due to personal issues (I was doing quite a bit of personal travel and moving across the country) for which I could not devote full attention to the station. It was shut down in late 2016.

However, due to many emails from listeners over the next couple months, I decided to bring the station back "on air." So with a new name and more direct focus of just one station, "Anime Blast Radio" was born.
Short History. What we play and why we play it.
While there are many anime, j-pop, etc. internet stations available to listeners, very few are, and have been, dedicated to playing just the opening and ending songs from anime shows and movies. This is what Anime Blast Radio plays all the time. It is commercial free except for a couple promos you may hear every hour. It is pretty much music all the time.

In today's internet age you have the ability to listen to anime music from a variety of places. You may even be like me and continue to add to your anime music library by purchasing either CDs or Digital music from Apple iTunes or similar service. You may even spend hours creating playlists of your favorite songs for certain times. But what sets an internet radio station like Anime Blast Radio apart is that you can start listening and you will never know what you will hear. You may be listening to the latest opening song from Attack on Titan season 2 (Shinzō o Sasage yo! [心臓を捧げよ!] by Linked Horizon and the next song is "You Get to Burning" by Yumi Matsuzawa. The opening to the classic anime show from 1996, "Martian Successor Nadesico."
