Bernadette by Reina del Cid Subscribe: http://bit.ly/subReinaDelCid Surprise! Here's the official audio of one of the songs off of our upcoming album, Morse Code. This is a tune called Bernadette. This one baaaaarreeely made it onto the record at the last second. We basically had the album fully recorded were in the very last stage of adding the harmonies to the tracks. While I was supposed to be working on the harmonies at home, this melody kept popping into my head. Then the first few lyrics came, and strangely, they were about a ghost named Bernadette. Eventually, it seemed like this ghost wouldn’t leave me alone and I had to sit down and just write out her story in the form of this song.
I called up the band and our producer Matt Patrick and we scheduled a last minute session at the studio to get this song on the new album. There were no rehearsals, not much discussion on arrangement—we just came in and tried out ideas and played what we felt, and this is the result.
So, I present Bernadette. I hope you like her!. :) Lyrics are below.

It was a quarter to four am alone in my kitchenette that's where I met Bernadette and I still can see her now
First she kicked on the wash machine streaked 'cross my tv screen rustled the magazines and blew my candle out
But how many days passed since then? Since I saw her silhouette now I want her back again Oh, my Bernadette
It was the strangest of summer dreams those nights she spent haunting me she touched me 'cross centuries and I never felt alone
But one morning I knew she'd gone left the lights and Victrola on and I woke to the saddest song a tune from long ago
Now it feels like I lost a friend and I find myself wondering will she haunt my home again? Oh, my Bernadette
Each night when I go to bed I leave one candle flickering She finds her way back again Oh, my Bernadette
