The American musician, record producer, arranger, songwriter, singer and orchestra conductor Van McCoy released his sixth studio album “The Real McCoy” in 1976 under the Hugo & Luigi label. The certified hit on “The Real McCoy” is the disco track “Party” which has powerful backing vocals that call on you to rise up to the occasion and do exactly what they want - party. Complete with a full brass section and a sassy strut similar to the hustle, the track is the centrepiece of the album among other groovy hits that some would consider the McCoy Classics.
