Family Radio

The history of Christian Hit Radio Inc (aka: CHRI), from the Canadian Radio Broadcasting Act to its officially launched on March 30th, 1997. With program and format changes, CHRI began operating as "Family Radio" on January 1st, 2007. Sowing The Seeds 1932 Canadian Radio Broadcasting Act: parliament raises a barrier keeping out controversial statements on "matters of public concern." 1991 CRTC feels the need to review its religious broadcasting and "balance" policies. 1992 "A great evolution within the panel" of the CRTC occurs as a result of personal testimony at an October hearing in Hull. 1993 Public notice 1993-78 officially legalizes single-faith broadcast station ownership in Canada...more than sixty years after the 1932 legislation.
