Freiraum Radio Digital

Freiraum Radio Digital, established by the Freiraum Dialog association in Lienz, Austria, operates as a web-based community radio led by co-founders shantingA, Eclectic-Patrick & cequario. It commenced in September 2021 with a handful of shows curated by dedicated local producers and DJ collectives, and has since expanded by featuring content from various independent radio stations across Austria. In 2024 FRD decided it was time to take the project a little further and connect not just with the local scene, but reach out to the globe as a whole. This resulted in the creation of frd.live. The vision is to reach “content from every continent,” with a focus on highlighting global, urban, independent and electronic music. Independent and ad-free, the station remains committed to a “sharing is caring” ethos, engaging in global radio show exchanges, and to be a hub for finest music selections. The spirit we call “Global Audio Aircare.”
