WUVI also serves as a channel for the university to be together as one community, mindful that the staff, faculty, students of the university will be listening as well as the larger community of the US Virgin Islands and the Eastern Caribbean region.

The products we bring to the community are uplifting, educational, informative, and helpful. We counter the chaos and entropy by providing excellent information to the community. We do not air material that is offensive, degrading, or demeaning to people. We air no shows with music that demeans women, promote drugs or incites violence. Our mission is to serve the community and use the power of the media for the good of the people.
