Inspired by Houston’s rapidly growing South Asian population and businesses, founder and CEO of Rajput Media and Sangeet Radio, Saeed Gaddi, realized the need for a radio station that broadcasted programs blending cultures from all of South Asia, versus focusing on just one culture or region. As a result, Sangeet Radio joined Houston’s AM radio frequency in 1997, paving the way as the pioneer in bringing together the South Asian community and saying the word and name “Desi’ for the first time in South Asian Radio history in Houston.
