Nadia Nakai is a hip-hop recording artist. After graduating from Monash University in 2013 with a degree in Marketing, Communications and Media Studies, Nadia decided to explore the television industry. She later decided to focus on her music career and she signed to Family Tree Media (2016). As a frequent cameo rapper, Nadia featured on numerous number 1 hits and award nominated singles like “Amantobazane remix”, “Ragga Ragga” “Do like I do Remix” where she partnered with South Africa’s hiphop giants like: Riky Rick Kwesta, L-Tido, Cassper Nyovest, Gemini Major and DJ Sliqe. This led to big-stage performances in her career like the Channel O awards; Metro FM awards and the SA Hip Hop awards to name a few Nadia then branched into Africa, collaborating with the African heavy weights such as Ice Prince Zamani (Nigeria).Her music video “SakaWena” featuring Ice Prince topped at Sound City TV’s at number 2. Inclusively, she worked with Victoria Kimani (Kenya) and MI (Nigeria)and released hit single “I’m the best”. She is no stranger to the African continent as she performed on acclaimed stages in Zimbabwe, Malawi, Botswana and Zambia, Namibia and Mozambique. In 2017 Nadia Nakai released HIT SINGLE “Naaa Meaan” featuring Cassper Nyovest which placed her as the first female hip hop artist to clock 1M views on YouTube in South Africa. The music video was nominated for best video SAMA (2018) Nadia’s efforts earned her a Best Female nomination at the SA Hip Hop Awards (2017) and Best Collaboration nominations at both the SA Hip Hop Awards (2017) and Metro FM Awards (2017) for featuring on Gemini Major’s “RaggaRagga”, the pair performed the single at both award ceremonies respectively. SAMA (2016), She was amongst the “Do like I do remix” features and won best remix.
