Winter Wonderland (Bernard-Smth) by Perry Como and The Satisfiers, orchestra conducted by Russ Case
This 1934 wintertime tune enjoyed a major revival in 1946 and remained a Christmas holiday season standard from then on. Among the several new versions of “Winter Wonderland,” this brightly arranged Como treatment fared best with the public, reaching #10 on Billboard’s weekly singles sales charts. Other Como hits in this 1946 collection: “Prisoner Of Love” “Surrender” “Dig You Later (A Hubba-Hubba-Hubba)” “I’m Always Chasing Rainbows” “You Won’t Be Satisfied” “All Through The Day” and “They Say It’s Wonderful.”
Note that Perry’s 1959 stereo remake of “Winter Wonderland” is also commonly heard, but this is his original hit.
