ONLY MINE, The Serenaders, Unreleased (Riverside) 1963 Here’s another really great unreleased and uncharted song from my collection. There were a number of vocal groups during the 1950’s who recorded as The Serenaders. One group was from Washington DC, another from Detroit and then of course, The Serenaders from New Jersey with the great George Kerr (Newark) singing lead.
George Kerr, a songwriter, arranger and producer also sang lead with “The Imperials” for the Carlton and Newtime record labels during the times Anthony Gourdine left to do some solo work. Among the many of Kerr’s production credits are: Linda Jones’ “HYPTNOTIZED” and great songs for The Whatnauts, The O’Jays, The Moments and many more….
The Serenaders recorded a lot of great songs for many different record labels. “ONLY MINE” was a Riverside Records recording in 1963 that was never released. I mean really, what were they thinking, not releasing this great recording?
Enjoy “ONLY MINE” - just one of the many great unreleased songs with George Kerr and his unmistakable lead voice!
