Artists Rick Pier O'Neil, Luis Bondio, GMJ
Release Date 2016-03-25
Part of "Spring Particles 2015" in May 2015, GMJ and his "Hidden Hearts" rekindled the progressive house genre with a smooth, deeply melodic offering. Now returning to the label with a full release, big name French and Argentinean talents provide a pair of supreme remixes.
Hitting the headlines with a raft of high-profile releases, French producer, Rick Pier O'Neil, has been as prolific as he has impressive over the course of 2015. A regular on his own successful RPO imprint, further work has found its way onto such celebrated labels as JOOF, Clinique and Mistique Music. Furthermore, a pair of tracks feature on Max Graham's "Cycles 7" compilation, illustrating the influence the Frenchman currently has over the underground dance scene.
The "Spirals" EP with Australian, Desaturate, marked an impressive Particles debut in September 2015 followed by a reworking of Danny Lloyd's "Espejismo" shortly afterwards. Now returning for a second remix, the Rick Pier O'Neil interpretation of "Hidden Hearts" is full of the melodic and rhythmic flair that is a customary part of his production values. A sinister bouncing bass line that echoes themes from GMJ's original plays its part in anchoring a delicious percussive groove. Sumptuous pads and breathy vocal 'ahhs' add further layers of textured sheen in a work that see Rick Pier O'Neil continue his noteworthy production assault.
Argentinean stalwart, Luis Bondio, has found himself at the forefront of his country's underground dance movement, not least through his stewardship of Classound Recordings and radio show corollary. A regular on some of the finest modern imprints, an appearance on the "Sudbeats Volume 2" compilation series with Irish producer, Silinder, is but one of many highlights that has also seen the Cordoba born producer's work signed to Mesmeric, microCastle and Renaissance and supported by Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren, and Cid Inc.
A trio of remixes have found their way onto Proton Music for the likes of Juan Deminicis, Scotty.A and Kobana, while a 2016 debut for Particles now sees a classy reinterpretation of "Hidden Hearts". Making full use of GMJ's rich bass line, the Luis Bondio Dub Mix hits a strong deep house groove that finds its feet with rhythmic stabs that are accompanied by a delayed riff adding a further intriguing dimension. A subtle arpeggio sequence drifts delicately in the background, teasing gently across the stereo spectrum with a resulting remix of intelligent innovation.
Two new remixes from Rick Pier O'Neil and Luis Bondio has the blood pumping through GMJ's "Hidden Hearts" in rousing fashion.
