The unbelievable voice and engergy of Jackie Wilson flows soulfully togather with that of the projection and rhythimic tones of New Orleans babe Linda Hopkins to create one hell of a duet!
Released in Australia on the red and silver Brunswick label, brought out by Sydney's Festival Records on August 28th 1962, the single sold as well here as it did in the US, minimally!
Not reaching any of our charts, the single was available only for a very short time in August of '62 and recieving little to no airplay at the time sank into oblivion not long after. Jackie's follow up single, '(So Many) Cute Little Girls', originally an album track for his 1960 LP 'A Woman, A Lover A Friend' made the lower reaches of the charts locally and sold best in Adelaide where it made the Top 10. A few years later it was re-recorded by Jackie and released as a single in the US (1963) and placed on his hit LP 'Baby Workout'. It was this newly recorded version that made the charts in the US. This version was never available to Australian record buyers.
Anyway, for now enjoy the rare soul blasting duet from 1962! Rock on
