Dabei war es für Musik dieses Genre oft nicht mal üblich, dass es einen tatsächlichen Musiker gab. Oft reichte ein Gesicht für das Plattencover. Wenn der Erfolg kam, konnte das zu einem Problem werden, bekannte Acts dieser Zeit wurden auf der Bühne von Models gespielt, zum Beispiel Fun Fun, Valerie Dore oder Den Harrow. Typisch war auch die Veröffentlichung auf Maxi-Singles, erst wenn sich der kommerzielle Erfolg abzeichnete wurde eine gekürzte Fassung als Single nachgeschoben.
