Born July 5, 1952 as Nicholas J. Martinelli, he started working at Chips Distributors in 1969 and became East Coast disco promotor for Motown Records in 1977. Nick became DJ at the Catacombs Nightclub in Philadelphia in 1978 and formed TEC Records a year later together with Mark Stewart and Douglas King. In 1981 he was appointed A&R vice president at WMOT Records. He was a producer, songwriter and remixer of many disco releases for numerous artists and record labels, often together with David Todd.
