Firestation 104.7 FM was a Caribbean pirate radio station in New York. It had no license, used the frequency of WSPK-FM (also known as K104.7) and broadcasted their content in the Bronx and Brooklyn. On weekdays they usually broadcasted in the afternoons and evenings. On weekends they operated around the clock. There are actually lots of pirate radio stations in New York as they are trying to provide alternatives to mainstream radio stations and deliver the content that would appeal local people. Such radio stations even manage to earn money by selling commercials. Firestation 104.7 FM also did it.

Despite the absence of the broadcasting license Firestation 104.7 FM operated successfully for some time. In addition to good Caribbean music they had live shows with special guests and devoted listeners. The only thing they didn’t have was a broadcasting license. That is why unfortunately two of its main operators DJ Fresh Kid (in reality Seon Bruce) and Solomon Malka were arrested in 2013. Since that time this radio station is no longer broadcasting.
