Written by Bo Gentry, Kenny Laguna and Paul Naumann. Produced by Bo Gentry and Tony Lordi. “Groovin’ With Mr. Bloe” began life as an instrumental b-side to a vocal offering from Wind (featuring Tony Orlando) entitled, “Make Believe”. That disc reached #28 in 1969. However, the b-side attracted the attention in the UK and “Groovin’ With Mr. Bloe” was covered by a group calling themselves Mr. Bloe. Their disc reached #2 in the UK in the summer of 1970. Back in the US, Wind’s version was re-issued as by Cool Heat on Factory Records and reached #89. Bo Gentry and Kenny Laguna were very much involved with Tommy James & The Shondells. Along with Ritchie Cordell, Bo Gentry produced hits such as “I Think We’re Alone Now” and “Mony Mony”.
